Assisting with public sales
What are auctions?
An auction is a public sale in which property subject to registration is sold publicly. ‘Property subject to registration’ includes real estate, registered vessels and aircraft. An auction must be handled by a firm of civil-law notaries.
An auction can be held either by way of execution (by a mortgagee or garnishee) or voluntarily (by the owner).
